Get up close to one of the planet’s most endangered and beautiful animals with this Tickle a Tapir experience for two people. These native creatures of Brazil have been around for 35 million years and now you can meet a whole family of them at Paradise Wildlife Park.
Normally found splashing around in their beloved pool, these super friendly animals are almost always keen for a tickle, so don’t be shy if you fancy giving them a stroke. You’ll learn from an experienced guide how to approach and feed them using a few tasty snacks. You’ll also be able to ask questions and hear all about how these prehistoric-looking creatures are being protected from extinction. You might even get to see some baby tapirs if you’re lucky.
At the end of your encounter you’ll be presented with a certificate and souvenir t-shirt each, before being allowed back into the main area of Paradise Wildlife Park to explore the remaining attractions.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at Paradise Wildlife Park, you’ll be greeted by staff and offered complimentary drinks in the Discovery Centre. There, you will be met by a member of the Animal Park team, who will brief you on health and safety information before showing you through to the tapir’s enclosure.
Once in the enclosure you’ll be invited to tickle and feed a tapir while your experienced guide shares some interesting facts about these fascinating animals. Don’t forget your camera as there will be opportunities for your guide to take some shots of you tickling and feeding a tapir before leaving the enclosure.
