You will be a guest and temporary colleague at Flamingo Land Zoo, for the day, and will have the unique opportunity to discover what it’s really like to work as a Zoo keeper. In a day packed full of new and exciting experiences, you’ll step behind the scenes and gain a wealth of hands-on knowledge including how to care for some of the world’s rarest and most exotic creatures.
You’ll also discover that being a keeper isn’t for the faint hearted as you join the staff to help them complete their daily routines. Meet with giraffes, hippos, rhinos as well as farm animals and reptiles. What a fabulous day you will have.

Upon meeting at Flamingo Land’s main reception, you will receive a health and safety briefing from the member of staff who will be accompanying you for the day. You’ll then go behind the scenes to experience close contact with their wonderful array of animals.
The morning is spent in the farm, walking the ducks, feeding and cleaning the goats, sheep and cows. You’ll break for a quick rest before heading to the South American and Australasian areas, to feed and clean the giraffes and hippos. Lunch is generally between 13.30 and 14.00. After this you’ll head into the lemur exhibit to feed the lemurs and then the meerkats before visiting the rhinos. During your day you will also have the chance to handle some reptiles and feed the penguins.
