Great service, delicious finger food, and perfectly lovely tea
17 March 2017
Sip Champagne and indulge in an afternoon tea of savoury and sweet delights in The Carnaby Restaurant of the Courthouse Hotel. Just off Oxford Street, the 19th century Grade II listed Magistrates Court makes an exciting place to dine as it retains much of its original features. It has seen trials of many famous faces of times gone by, including John Lennon and Oscar Wilde.
Treat a lucky friend to an afternoon tea in the Carnaby Restaurant in this vibrant, historic venue and you will be served a glass of Champagne on arrival. You will be served freshly made savoury rolls and bagels, plain and sultana scones with clotted cream and preserve, and an array of mini cakes and pastries. The wonderful display of treats will be accompanied by a wide selection of teas and herbal infusions to complement your dining experience.
From Spring 2017 you can also choose The Courthouse in Old Street, Shoreditch, to enjoy your experience, where another former courthouse has been filled with eccentric charm and plenty of luxury elegance.
On arrival you’ll be greeted by staff and shown to your table where you’ll enjoy your Champagne afternoon tea for two featuring finger savoury rolls and bagels, pastries, cakes, scones with clotted cream and preserves, served with your choice of tea and of course a glass of chilled Champagne each.
A stone’s throw away from the famous Liberty’s department store and the shopping paradise of Bond Street, Regent Street and Carnaby Street, the Courthouse Hotel in Regent Street is situated in a former, Grade II Listed, Magistrates Court, retaining much of its original historical features with a modern twist. Or if the City of London is more your thing you can choose The Courthouse in Old Street from Spring 2017.

Great service, delicious finger food, and perfectly lovely tea
I took a friend on 19th December 2014 and had a lovely time. The staff were very attentive and the selection of cakes and sandwiches were great (I'm veggie and no egg mayo in sight!). The champagne was the nicest we had ever tasted. At first I wondered if there would be enough food but we couldn't fit another mouthful in. A throughly enjoyable experience, my friend is planning to take her mum.
I was brought this as a birthday pressie! Was such a beautiful place and staff where fab we arrived a bit early and was never a problem ans I think we where thee pretty much all afternoon food was delicious and champs was beaut! Will def be going back thanks for a special afternoon!
took my friend for a treat .Service and staff excellent ,food fresh and tasty ,tea hot and plentiful. Lovely venue felt very special and looked after x
Staff where attentive and pleasant, food was first class ...you think it's a small afternoon treat but we were really full after the sandwiches, scones, cakes, Champagne and pots of top class Tea.This was a gift purchased for my birthday by a friend and I enjoyed every minute and mouthful. Location is great straight opposite Carnaby Street and Liberty's of London. Brilliant.
Went here Friday 5th September 2014. Staff really good and quick service had a lovely chilled glass of champagne first. Menu was a selection of teas finger sandwiches and cakes/scones. Sand witches not really much choice., but you could have as many as you liked/requested. As the selection wasn't nearly enough food. Cakes not really fancy enough and scones a touch small although cream was delicious. A treat if you want to go cheaper than others, but if you really want a nicer afternoon tea my advice would be pay a little more.
Had a wonderful Champagne Afternoon Tea today at the Courthouse. Perfect location - lots of shopping first in Oxford St and Regent St. A lovely way to spend my birthday. Gorgeous tasty sandwiches, beautiful fresh cakes, scrumptious scones with clotted cream and jam. Lots of tea. Lovely helpful, attentive friendly staff. Highly recommended. Well worth the money.
Had a wonderful time today, staff excellent, food was fab. Took my mother in law for her birthday, my partner was not fussed about coming but he loved it. Well done for a lovely afternoon.
Lovely experience with my husband, staff were great and accommodating. Good central location.
I took a friend with me, we had a glass of wine before tea so felt very jolly! Very enjoyable way to celebrate
The food on offer was various, indulgent and beautifully presented whilst the location of the hotel was most becoming for the occasion. The atmosphere was charming and the décor was perfectly fitting for an afternoon tea. All round pleasurable and sumptuous experience.
The booking was easy, the service excellent. The sandwiches a little dry but the cakes and tea excellent and the champagne was very drinkable
It was a lovely experience. Just loved all the dainty cakes and delicious scones. Having a choice of ten was also nice as could experiment without risking too much outlay or dissapointment. The white tea was the best in my taste but my husband loved the peppermint. A nice way to start a weekend break.
A nice welcome at the Courthouse Hotel (Hilton) offered another two pots of tea and more food. When we had finished, we just accepted the tea. The whole venue and service was excellent certainly think this promotion was five star. Well done to all concerned!
Lovely venue friendly and professional service - A most enjoyable experience, thank you!
Welcome by hotel staff and seated comfortably in the restaurant, we were served quickly with good variety of sandwiches, cake and choice of tea or coffee together with a glass of good quality champagne. Extra sandwiches were requested. No pressure to leave and staff pleasant throughout. Would have appreciated directions to find venue as map on Courthouse Hotel website was very sketchy.
Although the main hotel was lovely and warm, the small bistro section used for the tea was very cold. Everytime the door opened, a cold blast from the snow outside between blew in. Staff were charming and unlimited pots of tea available to keep us warm.
I found this particular promotion an enticing start to the week - and my wife and I really enjoyed the experience. The service we received was first class and the waitress most attentive and helpful. However, I felt that there could have been a few more finger sandwiches (we had two each) to balance out the meal. But this is a minor observation on an afternoon tea that was enjoyanle. Thankyou
Taken my wife here for her birthday, we had a lovely afternoon.
The booking process was very easy and simple with no problems at all. We arrived 10 minutes early, which wasn’t a problem, and were welcomed by friendly staff in The Carnaby and given of choice of tables. The Carnaby was very clean, pristine and modern, but a little on the dark side as it was very art deco with lots of grey and black styling. As soon as we’d chosen our table, they came over with 2 glasses of Champagne. I dont generally like Champagne but this was very nice. The menu didnt have any coffees listed, but plenty of choice of different flavoured teas. Requesting a coffee was no problem at all when we asked and the choice for this was quite vast too. We waited about 5 minutes for our hot drinks and then a couple of minutes later our cake stand arrived adorned with sandwiches and cakes. We then received another plate with four scones, two plain and two fruit, with jam and clotted cream! Wow, how filling?, in fact we couldn’t actually eat it all! We were there for over an hour, the staff were very friendly and efficient and weren’t trying to get rid of us, they were actually asking if we wanted more tea and coffee!!! Really nice treat!
