Enjoy each other's company during an impressive five-course meal with a charming twist - your dining experience will take place in a first class restaurant car being hauled by a main-line steam locomotive, through the Leicestershire countryside.
Climb aboard, relax and prepare yourselves for a truly elegant dining experience. During the evening the train will complete 2 return journeys and will take a short stop at the award-winning Rothley Station complete with original Edwardian gas lights, to really have you feeling like you’ve been transported back to the golden age of steam trains.During the lighter evenings the train will also make a short stop on the viaduct over the picturesque Swithland Reservoir.
You will even be granted unlimited travel on the steam line on the day of your meal; the four of you are bound to have an experience to remember and will no doubt make some treasured memories.

Your voucher is valid for 7 months from the date of issue, while government restrictions apply in relation to Covid-19 we are offering free extensions on all experiences so you can take your experience when the time is right.
What happens on the day?
You should arrive at Loughborough Central, in order to board your train for a 19.00 departure (19.30 on Friday extras). Once all passengers have been seated at their reserved tables the train will set off and your dining experience will begin.
The attentive service staff will serve an impressive five-course meal throughout your journey in the first class restaurant car, through the Leicestershire countryside. Whilst drinks are not included there is an extensive range of wines, beers and spirits available for purchase from the steward. After an interlude at the delightfully atmospheric Rothley Station you will return to Loughborough Central at approximately 22.00.
Don’t forget to use your voucher for unlimited all day travel, along this line, on the date of your dining experience (or the following day if dining on a Friday).
- Minimum age: 5 (under 16s must be accompanied by a full paying adult)
- Unfortunately wheelchairs cannot be accommodated in the dining carriage

Vouchers are valid for seven months from the issue date and cannot be extended.
This experience runs on most Saturday evenings from January to November and a few Fridays during the summer, departing at 19.00 (Fridays at 19.30) and returning at approximately 22.00.
We recommend you book six to eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow up to 3 hours 30 minutes for your whole experience. The dining experience will last approximately 3 hours and you have the opportunity for unlimited travel prior to your experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
How it works
All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
