Learn how to sew in just three hours, and take home evidence of your newfound skill at this Create Your Own Bag in a Beginner’s Workshop with Sew Over It in London.
You’ll be taught everything from selecting the right materials, to cutting and pinning fabric, threading a machine, sewing in a straight line and finishing the inside of your bag to prevent fraying. Take your pick between making a drawstring bag or a tote bag – with expert teachers on hand to guide you every step of the way, you’ll be in good hands to let your creativity shine!
Tea and treats will be provided to help the sewing process along, and with a maximum number of 10 people per class, there’ll be plenty of one-to-one guidance to ensure you get the most out of your workshop.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at Sew Over It in London, you’ll receive a warm welcome before joining the rest of the class to begin your workshop. With expert teachers to guide you every step of the way, you’ll learn the basics of sewing, from cutting and pinning fabric to using a machine.
You can create a drawstring or tote bag to take home – perfect as a laundry bag or a gym bag, travelling, or keeping things nice and tidy. Tea and sweet treats will be provided throughout the class to keep the creativity going!
Your voucher is valid for 9 months from the date of issue
- Minimum age: 16
- Participants aged 16 or 17 will need written consent from a parent or guardian
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
This experience runs on selected weekdays from 18.30 to 21.30, usually at least once a month.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 3 hours for the full experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
How it works
All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
