See inside London’s most famous music hall with over 140 years of history, and enjoy some traditional refreshment with this Royal Albert Hall Tour and Afternoon Tea for Two.

There’s a history of tea being taken at the Royal Albert Hall, with the first tea party taking place just over 100 years ago. You can continue that tradition at the Hall’s curved Verdi restaurant, where you’ll be able to look out over the Royal College of Music while indulging in a feast of sweet and savoury treats. You’ll each get to enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, desserts (including the likes of salted caramel and dark chocolate slice, Classic baked lemon tart, mango, passion fruit and Jivara éclairs and more) and a pot of refreshing tea.

Along with your Afternoon Tea you’ll also be able to take a tour of one of the most famous venues in the world as it prepares for the next amazing performance. With a friend by your side you’ll go on a journey from the front of the Hall through to the spectacular auditorium, including the view from the Gallery as well as an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Royal Retiring Room.

What's Included?

  • Afternoon Tea for two:
    Selection of sandwiches
Scones with clotted cream and jam
    Dainty desserts
    Choice of 11 teas
  • A 1 hour tour of this Grade I listed building. See the Royal Albert Hall as it prepares for the next amazing performance
  • Personalised voucher and message card
  • Cancellation indemnity

What happens on the day?

You’ll enter the Royal Albert Hall through Door 12, exchange your voucher for your tickets at the Box Office and wait at the Tours meeting point to take your pre-booked Grand Tour. Once the tour is ready to leave, you’ll begin your journey through this amazing Grade I Listed building, moving through the auditorium, gallery, Royal Retiring Room and all the storied corridors in-between, learning about The Hall’s rich history.

After the tour, you’ll make your way up to the first floor to take your seats in the Verdi restaurant, where you’ll be served your delicious afternoon tea. Treats include a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, sweet desserts and a pot of tea chosen to suit your tastes.

Both the tour and the afternoon tour were excellent. The tour especially was very informative and quit honestly exceptional and a special mention for the guide who made the experience very enjoyable.

"Royal Albert Hall"

We recently did the guided tour of the royal Albert hall and afternoon tea. This was an hour's guided tour of the hall led by a very knowledgeable guide who clearly loved her job. We learnt some interesting facts about the hall. This was followed by a very good afternoon tea with a selection of sandwiches and fancy cakes washed down with a choice of teas.

"Grand Tour and Afternoon Tea at The Albert Hall"

The tour lasted one hour and was quite informative. As we were familiar with The Albert Hall, we knew much of what we were told and what we saw although The Royal Box and the Queen's Private 'withdrawing' room were new and interesting to us. I think 1 hour was sufficient though as it was a gift I could not judge the value of the afternoon. We very much enjoyed the afternoon tea. Our favourite was the sandwiches and we were delighted to be able to take the cakes home with us.
