Take a trip to Kent for an historical journey back through the British Empire’s naval might, wander through 10 galleries and three warships filled with maritime artefacts, and enjoy a refreshing cream tea for two prepared in the Mess Deck with this Visit to The Historic Dockyard Chatham with Cream Tea for Two.
Since the functional naval dockyard’s closure in 1984, the Historic Dockyard Chatham has stood as a monument to the Royal Navy during Britain’s growth as a true world power and dominator of the waves. Through exhibitions like Steam, Steel & Submarines, the No. 1 Smithery and The Big Space, and the three historic warships HMS Gannet (a sloop), Cavalier (a destroyer) and Ocelot (an old-school diesel submarine), you’ll explore the role of the dockyard and its people, the evolution of warship design and even some of the history of the RNLI.
If that sounds like a lot for one day, you don’t need to worry – your tickets (once you’ve exchanged them) will be valid for a whole twelve months afterwards, meaning you can visit as many times as you’d like for a year. On the first visit you’ll also have a cream tea for two to enjoy, with scones and your choice of tea or coffee
