Explore the evolution of the sport in the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. Discover how a garden party pastime became a multi-million dollar sport played world-wide. Guests of all ages can appreciate the skill and sportsmanship of modern tennis through the use of the interactive touch screens. The museum also hosts an array of tennis memorabilia, a Virtual Reality 360˚ show using the latest Virtual Reality technology and special effects which create a ‘ghost’ of John McEnroe.
Both of you will take part in a tour of the All England Lawn Tennis Club as part of a small group. Visitors are asked to arrive 30 minutes before the start of their tour.
A typical tour includes visits to the No. 1 Court, the Water Gardens (Henman Hill) and the Millennium Building, the Press Interview Room, the Centre Court and entrance to the Museum, which you can enjoy before or after the tour. Highlights of the museum include the Championship Trophies, a ‘ghost’ of John McEnroe which appears right before visitors’ eyes, Virtual Reality 360˚ show plus film and video footage which takes visitors right into the action of some of the most memorable and exciting tournament matches. There is also an extensive collection of tennis memorabilia dating back to 1555 and a museum gallery with captivating displays.
