It was a great day and a wonderful experience. We enjoyed walking past the very long queue to enter Windsor Castle with out prepaid voucher. It all went very well, thank you.

Explore the world's largest inhabitated castle together with a visit to Windsor Castle. An iconic part of British Royal Heritage with over 900 years of history, the home of HM The Queen is one of the country's most significant landmarks. The two of you can explore it at your leisure, including the magnificently furnished State Apartments, boasting fine art by Rembrandt, Rubens, Canaletto and Gainsborough.
Discover the tombs of St George’s Chapel, one of the finest works of Gothic architecture in England, where Henry VIII and Charles I are at rest, and learn of the fire that nearly destroyed the castle in 1992. After your tour, the two of you can continue your indulgence of all things quintessentially British with a delightful afternoon tea at The Castle Hotel, complete with finger sandwiches, an array of cakes, homemade scones and freshly brewed tea or coffee. History, stunning architecture and delicious treats make this an outing to remember.
On arrival at Windsor Castle take your voucher to the door on the left-hand side of the main entrance to avoid queuing with visitors waiting to purchase tickets. You can then pick up a multimedia guide if you wish and join the tour of the castle. You'll also visit the State Apartments and St George's Chapel (closed on a Sunday).
After your tour you will make your way to The Castle Hotel where you will be served an afternoon tea with three finger sandwiches, a variety of fine cake, homemade scones with preserves and clotted cream, and your choice of tea or coffee.
Afternoon tea is available to book between 12.00 and 17.00, seven days a week, subject to availability.
Windsor Castle is open Thursday to Monday, with admissions every 30 minutes: First entry timeslot 10.00, Last entry timeslot 15.30.. Restrictions to availability including 27 December to 1 January (inclusive) will apply.
The Castle is completely closed on 25th and 26th December 2022.
Please note that the Castle will be closing early on 30 June 2022, with the last admission timeslot at 14:00-14:30. The Castle closes at 15:45.
State Apartments may be closed for special occasions. When the State Apartments are closed, the voucher will not be valid. As a working Royal palace, the Castle is used frequently by The Queen for State ceremonies and official entertaining, and closures can occasionally occur at short notice. Please check opening arrangements by telephoning the Ticket Sales and Information Office, or visiting the following link; https://www.royalcollection.org.uk/visit/windsorcastle/plan-your-visit
Please note Queen Mary's Dolls House at Windsor Castle is closed to visitors until further notice as it is undergoing restoration.
From November, work to enlarge and reconfigure the Windsor Castle Admissions Centre will begin. The changes will create a faster and more efficient entrance for their visitors, as well as a new view of the Castle for all to enjoy at the start of their visit. The works are being carefully phased, and the Admissions Centre will remain fully operational throughout.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on the voucher. All bookings are subject to availability.
As a guideline, you should allow at least 2 hours for your visit to the Castle but there is no limit to the visiting time.

Got to Windsor at 10.30 in time for changing of the guard at 11.00, very cold day but sunny. State rooms and St Georges chapel were very beautiful, took about 3 hours to view the castle and audio guide was free and useful. Afternoon tea was excellent quality and filled us up nicely. Overall an enjoyable day especially if you are into history and the monarch/military.
We had a wonderful day out. All the staff at Windsor Castle and the hotel were polite and helpful. I have bought quite a few of these days out and they are great for presents for people or to treat yourself.
Very enjoyable, it was good not to have to queue for tickets. The Castle Hotel for tea was very convenient. Very Good Value
Despite it being cold we enjoyed the tour round the castle. The tea was fine but felt it could have been served in a room other than the bar
